Kayla

Kayla is a bright, curious 8-year-old who lives on a farm where she tends the garden underneath which the SuperKids grow and train. After her mother's death, Kayla's father decided to move his family from the city to an agricultural community. Kayla is fascinated with the workings of the farm, and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Sadly, her brother is resentful of having had to move, and spends many hours indoors, in front of the television, eating junk foods.

Kayla is concerned that her brother's eating habits and lifestyle will endanger his health, just as she is convinced that her mother's poor diet may have contributed to her death. In fact, Kayla has become increasingly interested in nutrition and its connection with health after her mother died of an obesity-related ailment.
