Bobby Banana

Born in the warm, tropical climate of Costa Rica, Bobby Banana grew up on a Dole plantation where he was spotted by a Dole talent scout and was hand picked to represent Dole Fresh Fruit Company worldwide.

From Costa Rica, Bobby traveled to North America aboard a Dole container ship. Once in California, he joined the Dole SuperKids team and his SuperKids Adventures began.

Bobby quickly made friends with Pinellopy Pineapple and Christian Cranberry and the other SuperKids friends. They all enjoyed working together encouraging kids around the world to eat a healthy diet and to exercise.

Since then, Bobby Banana starred in numerous television commercials and had a leading role in the Dole SuperKids Adventures CD-ROM. His personal appearance schedule is always booked solid. Bobby enjoys traveling throughout North America appearing at telethons, fundraisers, store grand openings, schools, parades and other special events. There's even a Bobby Banana plush doll, a Bobby Banana beanbag character and a singing Bobby Banana doll, released with the "Bobby Shuffle" dance video and CD-ROM.

Even though Bobby has long been a big star--and has lately been involved in the highly heroic fight to protect the human body--he's still the same down-to-earth banana that he was back in Costa Rica.
